1.1 Draft Written report on the range and types of creative and media activity in the Southbank
Tate ModernTate Modern is the South Bank's most famous art gallery. Not just an art gallery, it’s an international modern art, meaning they have different art displays from other countries and different galleries. Tate Modern was created in the year 2000 and was discussed as a power station in the heart of London…
The gallery displays the national collection of international art. This is defined as art since 2900 and the international painting since pre-1900 is found at the national gallery. They have different types of special things in the exhibitions such as; special exhibitions, events and education and collection displays.
Tate modern is just not located In London it is also located into 3 different places, such as in Liverpool and Cornwall. As you can see Tate modern is geographically into three areas as you can see it is big.
As you can see it is near the Shakespeare’s globe and near the river Thames.
This is one of the events in the gallery as you can see in the image. This event is called paper myths: Constructing ‘the other’ I believe this is about creating a sketchbook of ‘paper myths’ meaning creating myths in the sketchbook.
You don’t need skills to do this event according to the event. The booking price is £110.

The Mayor of London is an elected politician who, along with the London Assembly of 25 members, is accountable for the strategic government of greater London. since 4 may 2008, conservative Boris Johnson holds the position. Previously, the position was held by ken Livingstone from the creation of the role on 4 may 200 until his succession by Johnson. The role, created in 2000 after the London devolution referendum, was the first directly elected mayor in the united kingdom, the mayor of London is also referred to as the London mayor, a form that helps to avoid confusion with the London mayor of the city of London, the ancient and now mainly ceremonial role in the geographically smaller central region of the ancient city of London. the mayor of London is the mayor of all greater London (including the city).

This is one of the theatres event which is the Henry IV part 1 as you can see their play just Henry IV and has parts in it, they play is fully described in the theatre, and the quality is at its best more than what other theatres can do. I have been to one of the theatre I hope this will be much better than the one I have been two. Some times the theatre is very boring that would make me to sleep.

The gallery is built by Higgs and Hill Construction Company and opened in July 9th 1968.
The concept was designed with the queen Elizabeth hall and Purcell room.
This is where the Hayward is located, it is near this royal festival hall and it is near the river Thames, it call tell how important the location of the gallery is.

1.2 Careers in london Presentation From Mrs. Dowdie

Presentation by Dawn Dowdie (Careers Officer)
Miss Dawn Dowdie (careers officer) informed us about careers in the creative and media.
She first started of showing us a list of possible outcomes towards the creative and media sector. This informed us to what type of jobs we can choose in the future; and these are;
She then moved on three different productions;
• Pre-Production
• Production
• Post Production
Then she moved on to different media careers and what best university to enter to. Like if you want to be a producer; you would want to go Raversbourne collage.
Or if you want to be a camera operator, you would go to Brune University.
Or if you want to go to broadcast journalist, you would go to university of Leeds.
Moving on, what I want to do in the future creative media jobs is to do architecture/interior design. I have a clear mind of what careers is about. I have passion for designing buildings but also passion for designing roads.
I used to create a model of a road and my sister and I would play on it.
What inspired me is that, in the documentaries I watched the t tallest building, which is in Dubai, which is called burjlchalifa. So what I wanted to design is; “the most designed building”
What clicked in my mind is that the inspirational talk from my friend helped my to like more of the architectural design more because he’s design is such an eye catching and made me smile.
Also the building is such an ‘numinous’ feeling since the design is well built.
Inside the building is very bright and helped me to think more of the architectural by the look of the school.

1.3 A personal critical response to the film “Despicable Me”

Dull, dark, denatured, this mysterious building over the heart of BFI. Grabs your attention, even far away if you place yourself over in the Hayward galley, you would able to see this round robotic hypnotizer. Do you really think this round cylinder shaped will make your day? Just read on and I’ll inform you how I experienced in the BFI…
I really wanted to see this film because I love cartoons. I wasn’t disappointed. The film is exciting, humorous and inspiring. Not even a bit will put you down to watch this humours film. Although the service is quite slow… the interior environment of the building will grab your attention for the rest of the day.
Moreover to the film, the film is introduced by this black suited, fat and ugly male character. You see his thin legs to fat body and small looking head. You might be correct that this ugly looking devil is evil. Maybe wrong if you actually watch this mysterious movie.
This character is named Gru. The animated character engages me a lot by the way he communicates (Russian Accent).
In my point of view his accent creates humours that made me laugh. Although it is humorous it could also offend certain race. He is a smart evil character same way he could use his smartness through being a hero.
Although I am describing the main character, the story is smartly addressed, with its humours, exiting and fun 3D effects. Which grabs you into a new dimension making you feel like a character. I felt that the plot had twists creating confusion between good and evil towards Gru. I believe in my point of view the story could have been more interesting by making transitions and next scene more interesting. However to conclude, the overall the movie was up to a high standard including humour to angry to sad. This would really engage the audience like myself.
Listen up! Character relationships are very emotive; it is like I have been to a theatre. Like the relationships between Gru and the orphanage infants, just because he saw that they are selling biscuits to his mortal enemy. He planned that he would adopt the children. But things twisted Gru’s behaviour after a while...
Moving on… the setting is smartly eye catching towards others and me. Reason is that the whole movie is so colourful, bright, primary colours in very happy time while in sad times it is so dull, emotive and un-colourful.
Lastly, the ending to finish the story I felt amazed how it totally brought my emotions up that quick, I am so cling throughout the movie, although it is a cartoon the story, it is smartly addressed. It is like you are in heaven.
Back to the point of animations, it is animated clearly especially with its smart 3D polarise will take you to a new world. I believe it is too biased by the way of the skin the colour of the cartoons. It is clear, sharp and smooth animations. I love the way the ‘diminians’ are animated with the sound of they’re voices.
I would recommend this to all families, friends or anyone in the world even ‘aliens’! This is a smart, special and supreme movie. I believe it will actually make you day even to little children’s because of it humorous voice given from Gru
Hence why I recommend this to everyone!
1.3.1 Be Able to develop a personal critical response to a creative or media artefact, activity or event

Imax
I will be reviewing about the film the despicable me along with facts and opinions that are very oxymoronic.
Firstly, I watched the film with group of people (friends) on the 15th of October 2010 in the BFI IMAX geographically located in south bank. The size of size of the building is very ‘big’. I was amazed that I went to the BFI IMAX trip one that I cannot remember.
Overview
Imax is a motion picture film format and projection started crated the Canadian IMAX corporation. The company activities include design leasing, making, maintenance and operation of Imax film and digital their systems as well as de development, production, post production. Imax is a great experience for watching a film it is like you are in the movie rather that the normal screening.
Especially in 3d, if you watch the ‘despicable me’, the part where the man took the ride in the rollercoaster. The 3d effect occurs. I felt like I was going to drop of my seat. The animation in the Imax is very clear. The screening is very wide.
Review of the experience you I had in the Imax.
I had an extraordinary experience in the BFI, having to think that you’re in the film. I thought wrong that the film was watching is dull, dead, disgraced. But what I thought that the film in the ‘IMAX’ is exiting, epic, emotional feeling. It nearly made me cry.
This is the rating of the IMAX, which I found in: http://www.peopleandpicks.com/ticker/IMAX
As you can see it rating is very ‘medium’ rated. It is rated in ‘3’ stars, which meant that they have a room to improve. But I believe other website would count the rating ‘biased’ or ‘unfair’.
Geographic Location
BFI IMAX is geographically located in south bank. South bank is adjacent to the river themes. According to my opinion, south bank is well constructed and brilliantly located to just opposite of the river Thames; ‘more’ or ‘like’ neighbours. South bank reaches two square miles along to the southern bank of river themes. The western section is in the London Borough of Lambeth and the eastern section is in the London Borough of Southwark. The area is hemmed in between the river to the north and the viaducts of the approaches to Waterloo, Charing Cross, Cannon Street and London Bridge railway stations.
Quality of service
The quality of the service is very fundamental, high, first class. The interior design of the IMAX building environment has so much effect to the audience. This creates warmth and welcoming to the customers. The red carpet in the cinema creates romantic or danger effect. Also the redness of the carpet is dark.
However, there some parts of the building are unclean maybe just because of miss timed cleaners did not cleaned the place.
The talk from ‘Charlie’ was very informative, I clearly knew more about the cinema and I really know about between the polarise 3D.
Overall the quality of the service on the Imax is very good.
The building/ facilities
As previously stated, the building and facilities of the Imax is very uplifting. It is very comfortable for you to go inside the building. There is fashioned red carpet, with classy receptionist, with well-designed characters of the ‘despicable me’. I even played around with the cardboard characters.
Introduction of the despicable me
Brief about the despicable me am that there is the evil villain trying to capture the most precious item in the universe to be the most evil villain the universe. Before he would to that, he would firstly get the weapon ‘shrink ray’ this will shrink any items and you would simply try and steal it. However, it was impossible for the villain to get the ‘shrink ray’ because it was on the other villain’s house. There was these three little orphanage kid who orders valuable home made cooked cookies and they would sell these cookies to this other villain. So what the guy did is that he would adopt the kids and happily steals the ‘shrink ray’ and would happily steal the moon.
But, there is a twist that you should find out…
Film synopsis
This film is very well constructed and created by the two well directors of the movie who are, Pierre coffin and Chris Reynaud.
John Cohen, Janet Healy and Chris Meledandri, produced it. This film is also been written by ken Dario and Cinco Paul.
The story is by Sergio Pablo’s.
The voice actors are in the list: Steve Carell, Jason sequel, Russell brand, Julie Andrews, will Arnett, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, Elsie fisher.
Opinion
This is the film review of the despicable me, which I gathered from the website; http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1214097-despicable_me/ this is a good critic from these reviewers.
“It would be a serious examination of the family in the post-modern age, were it not so laugh-out-loud funny.” – Anton Bitel
“A very likeable 3D animation that combines originality and charm with a pleasing, spiky humour.” – Henry Fitzherbert
Lastly,
“When an actor has just hit a career low -- as I think Steve Carell did in the desperate Dinner for Schmucks -- it's a relief to see them bounce back with a performance that clicks, in a hit film that really needs their services.” – Tim Robey
“What I thought about the film is, the film looks realistic but in reality it is cartoon. I felt that I was really in the film.” – ‘Me’

watching the movie dispicable me help to to express my feelings and my personal through in the movie in addition, gave a majority of different types of places in the southbank such as the BFI, TATE, Hayward which justyfyed my thoughts.
1.4 Research for creating a guide to the creative and media scene in the Southbank the two leaflet
This leaflet has inspired me through how the sections are layout. There are threshold has been used in this leaflet through making the hand of a guitar. The typography is very vibrant and bold this created a massive impact, which eye catches, the reader. There are events indicated in this leaflet, which comes to a description through what the event is about. This has a massive impact through understanding what the leaflet is all about. Through the last page, there are three different thumbnail pictures, which is about the different events of what is happening in couple of days. I can see the repetition of the badges used in each of the pages the colour is so sharp and eye catching making the reader to read what is on these badges. There is dates also indicated in this leaflet of what annual date this leaflet is for.
The second leaflet shows leaflet produced by the BFI IMAX. This is very unique is because it shows the contrasting of the colours between the black and blue. It shows an emotional effect in the leaflet. The text is very large and thin. In addition, the colours merge perfectly with the black in terms of the contrasting colours. The imagery used in the leaflet is very emotional but also crystallised. This makes the leaflet more mysterious. The connotation of the blue own is very calm and peace. Maybe this is what the film is about calm and searching for peace. The second page then tells about more of the upcoming events from the BFI IMAX. There are 4 quadratic shaped thumbnail images, which is for the different shows coming soon in the BFI IMAX. Beside the page of events, it shows a massive imagery of an owl. It shows that this is the recent film that is out in the BFI IMAX. Through the last page shows how to get to the BFI IMAX, there is only 2 colours used in the last page.
1.4 Drafts of a guide to the creative and media scene in the Southbank
This leaflet draft of mine is very technical; I gathered pictures of people form the south bank. This has made a dramatic effect toward designing my leaflet and that it increased my confidence in drawing these pictures. I used the light box to draw the pictures by using the tracing paper. as you can there are a lot of shapes and line which looks like Stephane Manel inspired.the text is very bold which helps the reader to see that it is the tile of the leaflet.
as you can see there is a lot of images happening in the front page this will help the reader to read on.

This is the middle page of my sketched draft. This has sections of the photos and a box shape underneath the layer where the picture is placed. The written event will then be placed just beside the picture.
I have also added the title of my main research event which is ‘’The Royal Festival Hall”
as you can see there boxes which indicates different types of thumbnail images for the middle page.
in addition, i have added an additional shapes layer from another shape. this helps me to structure my layout but the same time makes the leaflet more interesting.
This is the other side of my middle page. This has a big eye catching focused in the heart of London just upstairs in the royal festival hall. I took the picture my self.as you can see i have inspired the BFI IMAX leaflet in terms of making one large image. There is a box shaped indicated in my sketch. this is for the text which will then be about what is about the royal festival hall.
There art a lot of abstract images used in this sketch which gave me an idea that this middle page would be black and white picture.
I felt that there are more areas needed to be improved on because of how it is lacking of images and design.
This is how it is going to look like in my edit in the Photo shop. As you can see it is very colorful adding texture and different shapes on this poster. There will be a lot of blue colors used in the front page but the same time i will have to use some kind of shape which looks like a smoke shape. There will be a lot of black used in this leaflet.
I felt that there is more for improvement through using the colours more because the design is lacking of balancing the colours. Furthermore, it looks of messy and grungy this will scare of the audience through how the design is layout.

The colours of the middle page of the leaflet is very black and white having the edges very artistic and Stephan Manel inspired.
the colours would be vibrant terms of the colours would be very sharp. this will attract the reader which will make them to read on.
this is how it will look like in photo shop in addition i will add the information about the details of the event.
I felt that the shapes are too big and the border is too confusing due to the shapes of the border which looked Gothic. however i liked how the text is bold, this will catches the eye of the audience because they are more likely too look at the bold writing of this leaflet. In addition I liked how the 'events' is underlined.

This is the sketched of my second middle page for my leaflet. This is also Stephan Manel inspired. This is also black and white.
as you can see the colours are more vibrant and there is a lot of abstract shapes.
The image looks like it is illustrated lime Stephane Manel style.
i loved how the pictures are layout and how there are various of shapes in the design, futhermore I felt that this will draw in the audience.
7. This is the front cover, which is made form computer aided design software called Photoshop. As you can see it is more rich colorful and also has different elements of photos used from my cover. I believe this will hit my target audience.
This is the first middle of my leaflet as you can see it has a tad grayish and black with white background. I used threshold in the image which I took form the camera.
This is my second design of my leaflet as you can see it is half finished. I would need to re-touch in this middle page. in addition i have shown wide variety of images put into a threshold in the second page of the middle page. I have shown a speech bubble shape to show there will be a text in the second page. Is speech bubble will be about the Royal festival hall.
